There something so incredibly decadent about the tissue lined envelopes, the thick card and a die stamped name. In a world where everything has to be there now, there is something luxurious about taking the time to write a note, whether it be a thank you letter, to arrange drinks, or just to say hello (and who doesn't want something other than a bill in the post box?)
For a small fortune Smythson's offers personalised stationary in a rainbow of different paper and die, particularly if you happen to be lucky enough to be able to visit one of their stores in the U.K., New York, Beverly Hills or Hong Kong.
However, if you want something a little more fashionable than chic, Giles Deacon has collaborated with Smythson's to develop a limited edition box of correspondence cards with 5 different illustrations to savour. Personally, I can't wait for another Nile Blue box in the mail...
